Shri Suktam
Śrī Sūktam is a Vedic hymn praising Goddess Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth, prosperity, fortune, and beauty. It is part of the Rigveda's appendices (Khilanis) and is often recited for blessings of abundance and auspiciousness.

ॐ हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं सुवर्णरजतस्रजाम् । चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥१॥
Hindi Translation
ॐ हे जातवेद! आप उस लक्ष्मी को बुलाएँ, जो सुनहरे रंग की हैं, हिरण जैसी कोमल चाल वाली हैं, सोने-चाँदी के गहनों से सजी हैं।
English Translation
Om! O Jataveda (Fire God), invoke for me that Lakshmi, Who is golden-hued, deer-like in grace, adorned with gold and silver garlands.
Explanation
The seer asks Agni (fire) to bring Lakshmi, who shines like gold, is graceful like a deer, and wears radiant ornaments, into one’s life.
Shri Suktam is a highly revered hymn in Vedic tradition, often chanted during Lakshmi Puja and on auspicious occasions to invoke divine blessings. The full hymn typically contains 15 or 16 verses.
