Significance of the Peetha

  • It is believed that the throat of Goddess Sati fell at this sacred site, making it a powerful center of Shakti worship. Though geographically close to Amarnath, many scholars also relate this Peetha to Hinglaj Mata in Baluchistan (now in Pakistan) due to overlapping associations of Mahamaya. This Peetha symbolizes the voice of truth and divine resonance.

Spiritual Importance

This site is revered as a convergence point of Shaivism and Shaktism. Pilgrims believe that the resonance of divine truth (as the throat of Sati) echoes in this region. The proximity to Amarnath cave strengthens its spiritual vibration, where devotees experience silence, snow, and inner stillness.
